DiNardo was taken off life support Tuesday after having been shot, along with four other cops, while trying to arrest two armed robbery suspects on July 16.
Thousands of people lined the funeral route yesterday from McLaughlin Funeral Home on Pavonia Avenue through Journal Square to St. Aedan's Church on Bergen Avenue.
Police officers from around the region massed in the street in front of the church to salute the fallen hero.
During the concelebrated Mass, DiNardo was recalled as a selfless man in a selfish world who made those around him better people.
