Alice Patrick's Mural: One of many that needs to be saved!
Artist Alice Patrick, LA’s first African-American female muralist, is calling for support to save her hand-painted landmark mural depicting images of predominant African-American women in history; if it is not restored, it could be lost forever. The landmark mural is entitled, Women Do Get Weary, But They Don’t Give Up and was painted in 1991 by Alice Patrick. The mural features the Godmother of the Civil Rights Movement and former President of the National Council of Negro Women, Dorothy Height, who died in April 2010 at the age of 98.
