The first 10 photos show various sections of the border wall between Tijuana (Baja California Norte, Mexico) and San Isidro, (California, USA), San Diego. This testimony is intended to reflect visual fragments of the physical border of one of the international boundaries with greater flow of people and goods in the world. The metal border wall is the result of Operation Gatekeeper by the U.S. government (1994) and crosses the entire city of Tijuana; the purpose of this measure was to stop the passage of undocumented Mexican migrants.
The last 10 pictures were taken in late May in the city of Nogales, Mexico (Sonora-Arizona), at the border wall which is a few meters from the immigration office. On the wall there are many wooden crosses painted white with the names of several migrants who died trying to cross America in search of better living conditions.
