The Obamas will honor Sir Paul McCartney with a concert at the White House next week.

The June 2 concert in the East Room will celebrate the ex-Beatle as he's awarded the 3rd Gershwin Prize for Popular Song from the Library of Congress. The prize commemorates American songwriters George and Ira Gershwin and is a sort of lifetime achievement honor.

For McCartney, it might also mark the achievement of a very public goal. The vocal Obama fan has said he wants to serenade First Lady Michelle Obama with, of course, "Michelle." And McCartney reportedly dedicated the song to Michelle Obama during a Washington-area concert.

The White House concert will be taped and broadcast on PBS stations on July 28.The Swamp
