My roommates, at Freddy D hall.
Where have all the flowers gone
1972 Lincoln University, Chester Pa.
Wellington Campbell, Kevin and Rico.
A sad story about Wellington after he Left Lincoln University, he returned to his home in Liberia.
It was in the missed up a uprising, Wellington and other members of his family were killed by rebels.
This was one smooth, cool guy nice as any one can get.
One of the other guys was killed in a ride by shooting
a sign of the times to come.
But
Lincoln University,
black colleges were jumping in the 70's
it was teddy pendergrass, Stevie wonder
the Patty duke and dc shuffle
memories like the cluttered corners of my mind
Anyway
we bounced from college campus to campus
from Howard, to temple, to Cheney State, we partied.
these were the days of stomping in the yard
watching the pledges go over
but we were the rabble me and mine
We brought liquor from towns like
rising sun Maryland
national home of the Klu Klux Klan
at the time
and sung their is a house in New Orleans
all the way there
as we challenged the Klan in a different way
than functional civil rights demonstrators
we were the brothers of
Beta Phi Bold
no not really a fraternity to speak
of more like a wine sampling club
But boy did we raise hell
We are the lions
yea yea
the Lincoln Lions
yea yea
so right so right so right
boom boom
