BOSON EXOTIC
clip_image002"As protean transporters of invisible force, "Boson Exotic" artworks radiate phenomenological complexity. Each work becomes a saturated moment. The often arcane beauty of the exotic here trumps the arid, banal one liners prevailing in much current contemporary art.
clip_image002[1]The elusive boson particles are theoretically poised for unveiling in the largest machine ever constructed. Likewise the hard to pin down work in this exhibition, beckons discovery within a 20,000 sq ft phenomenon. In fact, acceleration of assertion posits Newark in a new art vangard."

Opening Reception: Friday, January 16 , 5-8pm

Self-taught artists compelled to create often use whatever materials are available to them. Jan Petry curates this exhibit celebrating those artists who have picked up a stick and made it their own. Tree trunks, branches, twigs, roots…. telephone poles, matchsticks, toothpicks… transformed in the hands of those with the vision to see in the humble stick what others do not.
Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art opens
Sticks January 16, 2009. The work of well known artists Keith Goodhart, Kevin Sampson, LeRoy Person, David Philpot, Bessie Harvey, D. Bill, Wayne Kusy, C.P.Ligon and Emory Blagdon will join that of unknown makers who express themselves in a stick of wood.
Join us for the opening Friday, January 16th.
