China Foodie Homage: President Obama Egg Art
The President is eggsactly what China needs...a speech on civil liberties in Shanghai
President Obama is now in Beijing, China, after a stop in Shanghai. Chinese artist Kang Yongguo created the egg art paintings, above, of President Obama and China's President Hu Jintao, to celebrate the historic visit.
At around midnight ES time, the President held a Town Hall Meeting in Shanghai at the Museum of Science and Technology, and took questions from the gathered group of university students. These included inquiries about cross-straits trade, firewalls and the internet, Twitter, and civil liberties, among other things. One student asked President Obama to describe his own university days, as insight into how he became president, and the President responded that the "recipe for success" was to "work hard, study hard, stay curious, and be engaged with your community." Another student questioner noted that he didn't need to wear his translation head set because the President spoke so clearly.
