Courtesy of the Newark Police Department Dashan Henderson, 28, of Newark, faces multiple drug and weapons charges following a police raid of his house early this morning, authorities said.
NEWARK -- An early morning raid in the Central Ward resulted in the arrest of a city resident and netted police a large cache of heroin, cocaine and marijuana, as well as more than $1,000 in drug money, authorities said.
Dashan Henderson, 28, was arrested this morning and now faces various drug and weapons charges, according to city police spokesman Detective Todd McClendon.
A 6 a.m. search of Henderson's South 12th street home turned up 369 decks of heroin, 252 bags of cocaine, roughly 3.5 grams of marijuana, more than $1,250 in narcotics proceeds, a 9 mm handgun, a pair of surveillance cameras and various paraphernalia used to package and distribute drugs, McClendon said.
Henderson has been charged with 16 offenses, including possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of heroin, cocaine and marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, possession with intent to distribute, maintaining a fortified premises and selling narcotics to an undercover officer within 1,000 feet of a school.
